Judith Miller: "Doesn't Do Politics"

Judith Miller
Kirk Cassels

Pulitzer-Prize-winning journalist Judith Miller is no stranger to controversy. More than a few people attribute her reporting during the lead up to the War in Iraq as one of the factors that swayed public opinion and led the country into war—not an insignificant charge. Couple that with the 85 days she spent in jail when she refused to reveal her source in the Valerie Plame affair and you get the sense that Miller has been living in the eye of a perfect storm for the past few years. The storm has begun to clear in the past year or so and Miller appeared on MNN to talk about what she's been up to lately. And here are the answers to the quiz:

True or False Quiz:

1) Judith Miller is in favor of CVS opening a store in Sag Harbor.False: Miller, and plenty of others, are vehemently opposed to CVS opening in the space currently occupied by 7-Eleven, Personal Best fitness, and a handful of other businesses.

2) Miller started the War in Iraq with her reporting.False: Plenty of people have leveled the charge that Miller's reporting about weapons of mass destruction in The New York Times prior to the war helped sway public sentiment to a degree where a war in Iraq became palatable. Miller's response: "No, I think we went to war for a number of complex reasons that we're still finding out." 3) She's advocating stricter laws for confidential sources.True: Miller has become a staunch supporter of a law that would give confidential sources far greater protection than they currently have.

Journalist Judith Miller

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author Judith Miller has—mostly—left the controversy behind and moved on since the days she spent at the center of the Valerie Plame affair. Today, she's battling CVS in Sag Harbor, maintaining that she wasn't the sole cause of the War in Iraq, writing about female Israeli suicide bombers and pushing for laws that offer greater protection to confidential informants.

All of which she talks about in this video...

She contributed to the public acceptence of bombing of Iraq

Judith chooses to blame her lies on crazy informants, but then why does she choose to believe and report on those lies that paint Muslims in the most negative light? Her reporting contributed to the public accepting the bombing of Iraq. This resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands and many more are suffering due to the destruction of homes and infrastructure. Millions of refugees are pouring out of Iraq into Syria, Jordan and Egypt; the United States is doing nothing to share in the cost of caring for these refugees.

While Judith Miller is babbling on about CVS, Iraqi and Palestinian women are struggling to provide food for their families while worrying about their safety.

Judith Miller cites "It Takes A Villiage" to train a terrorist

I am stunned and offended that you allowed Judith Miller an outlet to continue her traitorous propaganda. She opened with a little bitty bit about not allowing big box pharmacies into The Harbor and then launched into yet another misdirection of the facts surrounding her illegal outing of a very highly placed covert CIA field operative. Her reference to Hillary Clinton's book "It Takes A Village" to illustrate how terrorists support networks are built is what really ripped it for me, as a Conservative American. She is Not a terrorism expert. She is a traitor to my family fighting in Iraq. Her "research" has, over the years, been proven not only inaccurate but extremely biased time and again.
I cannot believe that you people even let her in the door, let alone gave any credence to her "qualifications" as a terrorism expert.
