Briefly we wondered if the scientists had confused their coasts. But upon further reading, we learned that the Hamptons are, in fact, at risk of being hit by a tsunami. Which is what they call a tidal wave in the Pacific. It's a very, very small risk, but it's still possible.
Of course, no risk assesment to the Hamptons would be complete without a colorful elevation map, which the scientists have considerately included. At the end of the day, the chances of a tsunami hitting here are exceedingly slim, but if it does happen, we can only blame Puerto Rico.
