Plum on TV Channel 18

"Pre-Season"

Spring is just about here, and summer is not too far behind. But we're not thinking seasons right now, we're thinking weeks- especially Hamptons Restaurant Week.

We're getting geared up for one of the best weeks of the year (March 30-April 6) with our newest, exclusive web contest in which those who have signed up for our newsletter are automatically entered to win a Night on the Town.

In addition, we're providing exclusive sneak previews of several Hamptons Restaurant Week participants:

A New Year

Happy, indeed, were the holidays in the Hamptons and at Plum. We got our East End cooking and shopping done, covering both the South Fork and North Fork, and made sure to stay as healthy as possible in the meantime. Adding the purest joy were our friends at the Sag Harbor Food Pantry.

The post-holidays season in the Hamptons is only cold when you're talking about the temperature, unless of course you're talking about January 8th-9th where the mercury nearly surpassed the 60º mark (or maybe it did depending on where you live). But even when it's freezing cold outside, we're still rolling out new episodes of This Week in the Hamptons– a weekly wrap up of our favorite events of the week plus a close look at the people and places of our neighborhood with a sprinkling in of exclusive Plum content from our sister markets as well. It's a full 90 minutes of enriching, homemade television. So when the weather actually is cold just stay inside and tune in to Channel 18.

By the way, you'll probably want to keep an eye on the screen for the latest episodes of our East End real estate show House & Home. If you miss it, you can always catch up on the latest in our real estate blog, written by our expert Heather Buchanan.

30 Shopping Days Until Christmas...

Twas the month before Christmas and at Plum TV,
The producers were shopping in a wild frenzy.

They'd decide to shop, for gifts big and small,
Something for short folks and something for tall.

And all of these gifts, they'd put under the tree,
They also decided to feature on TV.

So tune in and watch, while you sit by the fire,
And let them give you ideas, so you won't have to tire.
They found something for grandmother,
And even your brother,
But they're still stumped what to get,
For your dear, dear, sweet mother.

But fear not because, as you drift off to sleep,
Our producers will keep shopping,
While you're counting the sheep.

So don't touch the remote, and don't move the dial,
We'll have you all set with holiday style.

Happy holidays, and happy shopping. Do your part, because the economy needs you.

Ready For the HIFF?

With the Hamptons International Film Festival finally here, Plum has some special episodes of the MorningNoon&Night Show  at 8 a.m., followed by repeats at 3 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Before the first screening even showed, we chatted with Bob Balaban, whose film Bernard & Doris kicks off the festival Wednesday night to sold out theaters, the Festival's Programmers Josh Kouri David Nugent, as well as filmmaker Helen Hood Scheer and high school prodigy Gloria Dios.

We took the show a bit farther east from the traditional Bridgehampton Historical Society, and were lucky that our good friend Elie Tahari let us use their retail space in East Hampton. Hampton Coffee Company fed us good eating's as always, and Mark Anthony Rugs helped us with the decorating. Don't miss a cinematic episode as Jesse Kornbluth and Kate Hampton join us for this incredible week.

The First Saturday Of October

With summer behind us, we're filming the MorningNoon&Night Show indoors at our studio in Bridgehampton. With some creative decorating and a little help from Mark Anthony Rugs, the set was cozy for us and our guests.

The Hamptons International Film Festival is just around the corner, but before we pick our seats we're spending plenty of time with Sag Harbor as it's in the midst of its 300th anniversary. Joining us are the village sage Bryan Boyhan of the Sag Harbor Express, Sag Harbor resident and artist Dorothy Frankel, Tony Garro of the Women of Sag Harbor Tour, Playwright Stacy Dermont and her 300 Stories of Sag Harbor, and Lillian Woudsma who is the Director of Taste of Sag Harbor.

We're also meeting up with our good friends Frederico Azevedo, Rocco Carriero, Al and Mary Giaquinto of Plum Builders (no relation), and Michael Mosolino, and made new friends with David Carr of Mcguires Hearing Aid, and Miles Romanow of the weekend's Cyclo Cross event.
